The surefire way to throw a successful soiree? Booze, booze, and more booze. We went straight to Jim Meehan of PDT. He's not only a sought-after mixologist; he's a newlywed. Here are the cocktail recipes he served at his wedding.
Moscow Mule
1½ oz. Cîroc vodka
¾ oz. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. simple syrup
1 oz. ginger beer
- Add all of the ingredients to a mixing glass.
- Add ice and shake, then strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lime wheel and a piece of candied ginger.
Sloe Gin Fizz
1½ oz. Plymouth gin
½ oz. Plymouth sloe gin
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. simple syrup
Club soda
- Add everything but the club soda to a mixing glass.
- Add ice and shake, then strain into a fizz glass.
- Top with soda and garnish with a lemon wheel.
The Professor
2 oz. Rhum Clément V.S.O.P. rum
¾ oz. Dow's tawny port
½ oz. Carpano Antica vermouth
1 dash Angostura bitters
1 dash orange bitters
- Add all of the ingredients to a mixing glass.
- Add ice and stir, then strain into a chilled coupe.
- Garnish with an orange twist.
Whiskey Smash
2 sprigs of mint
3 lemon wedges
¾ oz. simple syrup
2 oz. Maker's Mark bourbon
- Add the mint, lemon, and simple syrup to a mixing glass and muddle.
- Add rye and ice, shake, then strain into a rocks glass.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint.
Tea-quila Highball
4 oz. brewed lemon verbena tea
¼ oz. agave nectar
2 oz. Jose Cuervo Platino tequila
½ oz. St-Germain elderflower liqueur
- Brew the tea with the agave nectar to integrate it into the liquid.
- When the tea has cooled, add it and rest of the ingredients to a mixing glass, fill with ice, then stir and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.
Champs Elysses
2 oz. Hine cognac
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
1½ oz. green chartreuse
1¼ oz. simple syrup
1 dash Angostura bitters
- Add all of the ingredients to a mixing glass.
- Add ice, sake, and strain into a chilled coupe.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.
