The summer barbecue circuit has practically made you a meatatarian. (And that heated hot dog eating contest permanently confused your digestive tract.)

Give your stomach a break from steak. From the owners of Hillside Quickie comes Plum Bistro, a scrumptious organic and vegan restaurant serving complex cuisine made from simple ingredients.

The light-filled space with well-worn wood floors caters to campers. Wi-Fi, an afternoon coffee happy hour, vegan pastries, milkshakes, and smoothies ought to keep you in your seat.

As will the eats. Begin the day with orange-banana-cinnamon crepes; move on to the Jamaican tempeh wrap come lunch. Dinner offers plates like spicy Cajun mac and yease, teriyaki tofu kebabs, quinoa sliders, and seitan BBQ po’boys.

Cocktails like cilantro lime mojitos, plum margaritas, or chai cream martinis are coming soon.
