Pack It In
How to Pack a Great Lunch Box

Frustrated when tossing a still-full lunch box at day’s end? Get smart with tips from local chef and author Jennifer Carden.
Chop Chop
Moppets are easily distracted at mealtime: Send small, manageable portions (i.e., slice hard-boiled eggs and chop fruit).
Bag It
Portion out dry snacks at the beginning of the week to grab when busy. Use dinner’s leftovers to fill thermoses, sandwiches, or tortillas. Add beans to last night’s pasta to make a nutritious salad.
Get into Shape
Cut foods into fun shapes with cookie cutters. Keep snacks separated in colorful silicone cupcake cups.
It’s a Wrap
Decorate the package with stickers and drawings. Then tie everything together with a bandanna — it’ll double as a napkin.
And lunch will soon become child’s play.
